IV therapy

Overview

Intravenous (IV) therapy is a basic but vital skill used in every clinical setting for
administering medication, parenteral nutrition, blood transfusion and maintaining
fluid and electrolyte balance. Peripheral IV cannulation is a fundamental nursing
skill that requires rigorous training and reinforcement to avoid procedural
complications. The aim of this module is to provide nurses with knowledge and
skills on the principles and techniques of IV cannulation and procedures related
to that.
